Abstract : This study explores the role of English extracurricular activities, particularly English clubs, in improving students’ speaking skills and confidence. Using a case study approach with a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of English club activities at SMAN 1 Samarinda. The findings indicate that extracurricular activities provide a supportive environment that enhances students’ confidence, fluency, and overall speaking performance. These activities serve as effective platforms for overcoming nervousness and fostering language development.
