Indonesia’s Public Diplomacy Strategy through the Indonesian Cultural Night Program in Enhancing Indonesia-Thailand Bilateral Relations

This research analyzes Indonesia’s public diplomacy strategy through the Indonesian Cultural Night (ICN) 2022-2024 program in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand, Using a qualitative, descriptive-analytical method, the research highlights how cultural diplomacyactivities not only enhanced mutual understanding and cooperation but also served as a strategic effort to elevate Indonesia’s nation branding in Thailand. The findings reveal that ICN fostered stronger cultural ties and people-to-people contacts, which contributed to deeper bilateral engagement. Furthermore, the program significantly improved Indonesia’s national branding by showcasing the country’s cultural richness and promoting values of harmony, diversity, and collaborations. As a result, ICN become a sustainable soft power instrument that effectively reinforced bilateral relations with Thailand, and also enhancing Indonesia’s national branding in Thailand.
